JJ Acuna / Bespoke Studio reimagines the classic American diner with youthful, cinematic energy

Greenlight Burgers by Chef Alvin Cailan is a compact yet personality-filled burger concept located in Bonifacio Global City, Manila, designed by JJ Acuna / Bespoke Studio. Inspired by the nostalgic spirit of classic American diners, the 34.65 square meter space reinterprets retro Americana through a contemporary and youthful lens, blending chrome accents, timber detailing, playful colors, terrazzo flooring, and sci-fi inspired lighting to create an atmosphere that feels cinematic, energetic, and deeply personal.

The project marks the first ‘Greenlight’ concept by Filipino-American chef, author, and television personality Chef Alvin Cailan, internationally recognized for Eggslut and The Burger Show. Built within an unusually narrow former convenience store tenancy, the design transforms the train car-like footprint into a fully functioning open grill burger bar where movement, sound, and conversation become part of the dining experience itself.

The interiors balance intimacy with vibrancy, creating a welcoming environment that evolves throughout the day from casual solo dining to lively group gatherings. Throughout the project, JJ Acuna / Bespoke Studio reinterprets the classic diner experience for Manila’s evolving hospitality culture, creating a youthful, memorable, and unmistakably welcoming neighborhood destination rooted in nostalgia, warmth, hospitality, and urban dining culture inspired by classic American diners of decades past.
